Preview Al Hilal Launches Bid for Inter’s Hakan Calhanoglu: €20M Per Year Offer and Future Coaching Role

Inter Milan is actively monitoring the transfer market, particularly in midfield, as they anticipate a potential departure for Hakan Calhanoglu. While the Turkish international`s future remains undecided, the club is exploring various options. One player drawing attention is Richard Rios, a 2000-born midfielder from Palmeiras. The Colombian is noted for his strength and versatility, excelling in both constructing play and defensive duties. Although his release clause is €100 million, Palmeiras is reportedly open to negotiating, starting from €30 million. His registration rights are complex, with Palmeiras holding 70%, and the remainder split among other clubs and agents.

Inter has inquired about Rios but faces significant competition from clubs like Tottenham, Everton, and Nottingham Forest, as well as Al Hilal, where coach Simone Inzaghi reportedly desires him for his new squad. Coincidentally, Al Hilal has also focused on signing Calhanoglu, again at the specific request of Simone Inzaghi. The Saudi club is prepared to make a substantial offer: €20 million annually for three years, along with a promise of a future role within their technical staff.

The ambitious, albeit costly, target for Inter remains Ederson of Atalanta. The €60 million valuation set by Atalanta is considered prohibitive for Inter, unless they manage to sell Calhanoglu for at least €30 million and also find a new club for Kristjan Asllani for no less than €20 million. Internally, Inter would rather postpone a move for Ederson until the summer of 2026, when potential player departures could make the deal more feasible. However, this scenario relies on the Brazilian midfielder staying at Atalanta for another year, which doesn`t appear to be his preference.
