Preview AS Roma Targets Pescara Prodigy Antonio Arena

AS Roma is reportedly targeting a new young talent, currently playing for a Serie C side. This talent is 16-year-old Antonio Arena, a highly promising forward owned by Pescara, who is reportedly close to joining Roma.

Who is Arena? Born in Sydney on February 10, 2009, he holds dual Italian and Australian nationality. Arena is a left-footed central striker who came through Pescara`s youth ranks. This past season, he also featured for the First Team in the season that saw the Abruzzo side return to Serie B after winning the playoff final against Ternana on penalties (both legs ended 0-1).

During the last season, Arena played four matches in the Serie C Group C Regular Season, scoring a goal in the 4-1 win over Lucchese and providing an assist in the subsequent match against Pontedera. He also played twenty-nine minutes in the crucial playoff final second leg against Ternana. Additionally, he made 14 appearances, scoring 3 goals, in the latest Primavera 2 league campaign. He also played once in the Coppa Italia Primavera, in a 0-5 loss away to Spezia.

This potential signing highlights Frederic Massara`s focus on the youth market since his recent return to Roma. The club aims to bring in promising players who can develop and become valuable assets, both technically and economically, for the future.
