Sam Beukema`s move to the Italian champions is getting closer. Following weeks of talks, which at times involved tough negotiation, Napoli and Bologna are nearing an agreement for the Dutch defender. Beukema has repeatedly stated his desire to join the Naples club.
The initial €10 million gap between Bologna`s asking price and Napoli`s offer (led by President De Laurentiis) has significantly narrowed after recent discussions. Napoli raised their bid to €28-29 million, and Bologna has signaled willingness to close the deal for €30 million. This is partly because they recognize the 26-year-old player`s wish to take the next step in his career after two excellent seasons in the Emilia-Romagna capital.
Beukema has already agreed on a five-year contract with Napoli and is now just waiting for the final approval, which could come soon. The path seems clear. For a player specifically requested by Antonio Conte, only €1-2 million separates the asking price and the offer at this stage.
After already signing Marianucci and De Bruyne, Napoli`s Sporting Director Giovanni Manna aims to finalize two more deals in the coming days. The other transfer nearing completion involves Noa Lang, the Dutch attacking winger expected to arrive from PSV Eindhoven for €25 million plus bonuses.
