Preview Bobo Summer Cup: Padel, Charity, and Entertainment – Vieri Loses Final

Christian Vieri, paired with Paolo Di Canio, may have lost the final, but he emphasized the crucial success of the fundraising efforts, which surpassed 10,000 euros during the auction.

The tournament concluded with Alessandro Budel and Thomas Locatelli claiming victory in a highly competitive event. It was a resounding success for both participants and spectators, culminating on Sunday evening with a greeting from Mayor Mattia Missiroli at the Adriatic Club`s Terrazza Golf. Four days were dedicated to sport, entertainment, and solidarity, expertly coordinated by Andrea “Fox” Guidi, Christian Vieri`s long-time associate in Romagna and beyond.

The second leg of the `Bilboa Bobo Summer Cup – Padel Tour 2025` reinforced the growing trend of former footballers becoming true legends on the padel court. The level of competition was incredibly high; in Cervia, with 12 players, a draw was needed to determine the fourth semifinalist pair. Naturally, there was some playful controversy aimed at the organization`s secretary, Silvio Buratti, who some `accused` of favoring the qualification of Vincent Candela and Giuseppe Pancaro. “They cried all week…,” quipped Stefano Torrisi, one of the local favorites.

Bobo`s Comments

“Cervia and Milano Marittima feel like my second home,” stated Bobo Vieri. “As always, we had a fantastic time, and everything went wonderfully. It`s just a shame that Paolo Di Canio and I lost the final, but the real triumph for everyone was the fundraising, a cause we all care deeply about.”

On Saturday evening, the participants of the `Bilboa Bobo Summer Cup` raised over 10,000 euros during an auction at Oceano, held during a dinner dedicated to the `SOStegno 70` association. Among the valuable items auctioned were an EA7 tournament jersey, a personalized Vieri jersey gifted by Ravenna Calcio, a new Italy jersey from Rino Gattuso, a Babolat padel racket, and a historic Inter jersey worn by Marco Materazzi.

“Cervia is ready for its innovative City of Sport, Mayor Missiroli`s ambitious project, and if they call us, we will always be there,” Vieri affirmed, setting the next gathering for his fellow ex-footballers in a few days in Lignano Sabbiadoro, an event that will surely include former Udinese players.
