Il Bologna ha ottenuto un pareggio per 1-1 contro il Friburgo nella seconda giornata della fase a gironi di Europa League. I rossoblù si sono portati in vantaggio al 29` con la rete di Riccardo Orsolini, ma sono stati raggiunti nella ripresa da un rigore trasformato da Junior Adamu al 57`. Tra i giocatori di casa, il numero 7 si è distinto come il migliore, affiancato da un ottimo Skorupski. Al contrario, Castro ha avuto una prestazione deludente, apparendo poco e causando il calcio di rigore che ha portato al pareggio.
Vincenzo Italiano, tecnico del Bologna, ha commentato la partita in conferenza stampa:
“Abbiamo mosso la classifica, aggiungendo un piccolo punto al nostro percorso europeo. L`obiettivo è chiaro per tutti: dobbiamo superare questa prima fase. Skorupski ci ha permesso di portare a casa questo punto prezioso. Sono fiducioso che miglioreremo, abbiamo ancora troppe aree per errori simili. Non stiamo percependo il pericolo come dovremmo, ma lo sistemeremo. Rispetto allo scorso anno, al 2 ottobre eravamo in una posizione peggiore. Io rimango ottimista, la squadra deve ritrovare brillantezza e ferocia. Vogliamo essere quella squadra, al momento non lo siamo ma ci arriveremo.”
Ha poi chiarito la sostituzione di Orsolini:
“Siamo stati costretti a sacrificarlo, e al 70` ho preferito inserire forze fresche. L`anno scorso con il Lecce ha segnato dopo una brutta partita, lo stesso con il Genoa; oggi (ieri, ndr) la situazione era diversa. Quando Bernardeschi raggiungerà la piena condizione con il suo piede sinistro, ci darà grandi soddisfazioni.”
Anche Federico Bernardeschi ha rilasciato dichiarazioni post-partita, affermando con schiettezza:
“Devo ritrovare la forma fisica, rimettermi in gioco a questi ritmi, so che non è semplice, ma la fiducia dei miei compagni mi infonde tranquillità. Vedrete che emergerà il vero Bologna che tutti conoscete. Noi subentrati dalla panchina avremmo dovuto fare di più, dare maggiore vivacità alla partita e cambiarne l`inerzia, ma non ci siamo riusciti. Molti di noi sono arrivati quest`estate, dobbiamo ancora ambientarci e metterci a completa disposizione del mister e dei compagni; ci stiamo impegnando e raggiungeremo il nostro obiettivo.”

Bologna secured a 1-1 draw against Freiburg on the second matchday of the Europa League group stage. The Rossoblù took the lead in the 29th minute with a goal from Riccardo Orsolini, but were pegged back in the second half by a penalty converted by Junior Adamu in the 57th minute. Among the home side`s players, number 7 stood out as the best performer, alongside an excellent Skorupski. Conversely, Castro had a disappointing outing, being largely ineffective and conceding the penalty that led to the equalizer.
Bologna coach Vincenzo Italiano commented on the match in a press conference:
“We`ve moved up the standings, adding a small point to our European journey. The objective is clear for everyone: we must advance past this initial stage. Skorupski allowed us to bring home this valuable point. I`m confident we will improve; we still have too much room for similar errors. We`re not perceiving danger as we should, but we will fix it. Compared to last year, on October 2nd, we were in a worse position. I remain optimistic; the team needs to regain its brilliance and ferocity. We want to be that team; currently, we aren`t, but we will get there.”
He then clarified Orsolini`s substitution:
“We were forced to sacrifice him, and by the 70th minute, I preferred to bring in fresh legs. Last year, against Lecce, he scored after a poor game, the same against Genoa; today (yesterday, editor`s note), the dynamic was different. When Bernardeschi reaches full fitness with his left foot, he will bring us significant satisfaction.”
Federico Bernardeschi also spoke after the match, stating candidly:
“I need to get back in shape, to get accustomed to these game rhythms again. I know it`s not easy, but the trust from my teammates gives me peace of mind. You will see the Bologna you know emerge. Those of us who came off the bench should have done more, injected more life into the game and changed its momentum, but we didn`t succeed. Many of us arrived this summer; we still need to settle in and make ourselves fully available to the coach and our teammates. We are trying, and we will get there.”
