
After a three-year absence, midfielder Stefano Bonaiti is making a significant return to his roots, rejoining Calcio Lecco 1912. The player, who recently became a free agent after his tenure with Alcione Milano, has officially signed a two-year deal with the club where he first developed his football skills and played until 2012.
Calcio Lecco 1912 officially confirmed the acquisition of Bonaiti’s playing rights. The club statement highlights the return of a homegrown talent:
“The Italian midfielder spent his most recent season with Alcione Milano, where he successfully concluded his registration. Bonaiti’s new contract officially binds him to Calcio Lecco 1912 until June 30, 2027.”
Born in Lecco in 1998, Bonaiti began his youth career at Aurora San Francesco before joining the Bluceleste youth ranks, where he played from 2008 to 2012. His professional journey subsequently led him through various clubs, including Como, Inveruno, and Seregno, where he notably celebrated his first Serie D championship title. Since 2021, he had been an integral part of Alcione Milano.
During his three seasons with Alcione, often referred to as the ‘Orange,’ Bonaiti played in Serie D and was instrumental in their historic promotion to Serie C in 2024. In the past season alone, he showcased his capabilities by making 34 appearances, contributing with 2 goals and providing 2 assists.
