Veteran coach Gigi Cagni shared his thoughts on current football matters during the `Maracanà` show on TMW Radio.
Milan`s Ricci Acquisition
Asked about Milan`s move for Ricci, Cagni commented:
“It`s tricky to evaluate transfer deals when teams are still being built. Allegri is the real guarantee for Milan; he can lead the team to victory if he finds the right tactical setup. He`ll likely aim for a compact side that prioritizes conceding fewer goals before scoring them. This means strengthening the defense is crucial, and the transfer market will play a part. Offensively, Allegri requires a clinical finisher upfront, as Leao is perfectly suited for devastating counter-attacks.”
Napoli`s Potential Signings: Beukema, Lang, and Strikers
Regarding Napoli`s reported interests, Cagni said:
“Lang rather than Ndoye? Ndoye is one of the best; I`m a big fan. He`s absolutely devastating on the left flank. He could be a fantastic replacement for Kvaratskhelia. These are players who can make a real difference. Nunez? I`m less familiar with him, but Beukema is a very capable player. Pairing him with Buongiorno would really solidify the defense. It seems they are focusing on signing physically strong players.”
The Lautaro Martínez Situation
On the topic of recent comments surrounding Lautaro Martínez, Cagni offered his perspective:
“I only did something similar once, and I named the specific individuals involved. I didn`t just make a veiled accusation. Marotta shouldn`t have said what he did without naming names. If you make such a statement, you need to be clear about who you are referring to.”
