Alessio Castellini, who joined Mantova less than three weeks ago, has shared his initial thoughts on his integration with the Biancorossi team. The former Catania player discussed his early impressions and experiences.
Castellini expressed positive initial impressions, stating, “My first impressions? I`d say they`re good. From day one, I`ve felt warmly welcomed by the squad.” He was pleased to reunite with former youth opponents like Fiori and Bragantini. Castellini also noted the strong desire from both Botturi and Possanzini to bring him to the club, which he appreciated. “Beyond the director, I already knew Massolini and Arcari from my time at Brescia, and I`m very happy to be working with them again,” he added. He further praised the club`s infrastructure: “At Mantova, I`ve found a well-equipped club with a beautiful sports center, which is something not all teams can boast.”
Looking ahead, Castellini eagerly anticipates playing in front of a full stadium. “I can`t wait to see the stadium packed,” he stated. He also expressed admiration for Coach Possanzini`s playing philosophy, revealing, “I don`t hide the fact that Possanzini`s style of play was another key reason that led me to come here.” He emphasized the coach`s calm approach: “The coach is the first one to instill a sense of calm and serenity in us, because he, more than anyone, understands that things take time. This helps me, and us, a great deal. My teammates are also giving me a lot of support.” Regarding the league, Castellini believes the competition has intensified: “Some tough teams have been promoted and relegated; I think the overall level has certainly risen.” As for his personal objectives, he concluded, “My goal? To improve every day and help the team achieve its targets.”
