Preview Como Ultras Absent from Sassuolo Match: ‘We Can’t Celebrate After Flood Devastation’

The Curva del Como (Como Ultras) recently announced via Instagram their decision not to attend tonight`s Coppa Italia match against Sassuolo at the Sinigaglia stadium. This move comes as the local community faces severe challenges following devastating floods.

This absence is not a protest against the club. The Curva Como 1907 ultras explained their deep empathy for the suffering of their community. They stated, “We don`t feel it`s appropriate to set aside everything for 90 minutes and cheer as if nothing has happened.” The recent floods have caused the lake to overflow, triggered numerous landslides, and left vast areas of the city and surrounding communities submerged and damaged.

In a gesture of solidarity, both Como 1907 and Sassuolo Calcio have committed to donating the entire proceeds from this evening`s match to support the regions most affected by the recent rainfall disasters. The Curva expressed its full agreement and support for this initiative.

The Curva also issued an important appeal: “We urge anyone who hasn`t yet done so to purchase the remaining tickets.” They emphasized that even a small contribution can make a significant difference in these difficult times. Furthermore, they confirmed being in contact with civil protection and other relevant authorities to organize more tangible aid. Official announcements regarding how supporters can get involved will be shared on their usual platforms as soon as concrete dispositions are available. “Avanti lariani!” (Go Como!)
