Cremonese is gearing up to face the Serie A championship as a newly promoted team, with a key presence in Davide Nicola. The Grey-reds` coach introduced himself at a press conference, discussing his new journey: “I am highly motivated for two simple reasons: the great humility and determination with which I was sought after, and the pleasant discovery of a reality I only knew from the outside but had never experienced from within. I operate based on my feelings, my emotions, when I feel my skin tingle.” He then commented on the transfer market: “For now, I`ve asked not to change anything, because in these ten days I want to meet the players I have available to coach them, learn their potential, and see if there`s an opportunity to enhance players who have performed well. There is no rush from this perspective.”
Vice-president Maurizio Calcinoni also conveyed his complete agreement: “Nicola is a profile strongly desired by everyone. The fans hoped he would arrive, and we succeeded in bringing him here with us.” Finally, it was the turn of Sports Director Simone Giacchetta, who explained: “We decided to involve a great person and an excellent coach, as he has proven over the years. Nicola needs no introduction; I knew him as a player back at Genoa and have always followed and admired his personal and professional path. Like me, the ownership and fans are certainly pleased to have him as coach in Serie A to face an experience that we want to approach with a smile, enthusiasm, and a desire to prove ourselves.”
Monday concluded with three official announcements that brought cheer to the fans: Cremonese communicated the acquisition of Romano Floriani Mussolini on loan with an option to buy, the renewal of Franco Vazquez until 2026, and the arrival of 2006-born midfielder Alessandro Lamorte.
