Preview DAZN Acquires Serie A and Key Italian Football Rights

DAZN is expanding its global presence by acquiring broadcast rights for Serie A, Coppa Italia, and Supercoppa Italiana. The agreement includes comprehensive matchday coverage in the United Kingdom, Ireland, and the United States (Spanish language only), in addition to highlights availability in most countries worldwide.

As the Club World Cup continues, DAZN has finalized an agreement to acquire exclusive and non-exclusive rights for the main competitions of the Serie A League in crucial international markets. This move strengthens its already established partnership with Italy`s top football league and expands its portfolio of premium football rights. For the 2025-26 season, the global live streaming and sports entertainment platform will broadcast all Serie A matches in the United Kingdom, Ireland, and the United States (Spanish language only – including US territories and the Caribbean). Furthermore, DAZN will hold rights for Serie A, Coppa Italia, and Supercoppa Italiana highlights in most of the global markets where it operates. This strategic operation is part of DAZN`s ongoing global expansion of its premium football rights portfolio.

Match Coverage Details

In these new territories, DAZN will bring top-tier Italian football to an ever-wider audience, broadcasting all 10 scheduled matches each matchday, with specific arrangements depending on the country. In the United Kingdom and Ireland, DAZN will have exclusive rights for up to eight matches per round, with two matches co-exclusive. Over 300 matches will be broadcast live in full, excluding those played during the Saturday blackout window in the UK and Ireland, which cannot be broadcast live in their entirety. This represents a significant development for DAZN in the UK market, where for the first time, a major European football competition will be directly available to the British public. In the United States (Spanish language only – including US territories and the Caribbean), DAZN will offer five exclusive matches per round and five co-exclusive, with programming designed to maximize access for the Latin audience. All matches will be broadcast live.

Highlights and Global Reach

Beyond live Serie A coverage, DAZN has also secured rights for highlights of Italy`s top league, Coppa Italia, and Supercoppa Italiana in nearly all countries worldwide. Highlights will be available at least one hour after the final whistle, with two or three-minute clips per match, depending on the territory. These newly announced territories join those already covered by previous international agreements in Spain, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Japan, where DAZN will continue to broadcast Serie A until 2027.

Pete Oliver, CEO of Growth Markets at DAZN, stated: “Serie A is one of the most prestigious football leagues. Our collaboration with the League has grown stronger, especially since DAZN became the primary national broadcaster of the league starting from the 2021-22 season. This agreement solidifies our position as a global football platform, expanding our presence in Europe and the Americas, and offering fans unparalleled access to Italian football, right during the ongoing Club World Cup. From Napoli to Milan, from Roma to Juventus, fans want Italian football, and DAZN is ready to deliver it.”
