The Bosnian bomber is training in Croatia, following a personalized regimen to be in top shape right away.
Edin Dzeko isn`t letting up, not even on vacation. To arrive at Fiorentina`s training camp in optimal condition, the Bosnian center-forward is following a meticulous double program: a diet defined by a nutritionist, strictly adhered to every single day, and a personalized athletic plan overseen by a personal trainer. Dzeko works six days a week with specific sessions for both endurance and explosiveness. This meticulous approach is aimed at ensuring he is in maximum physical form by July 14th, the start date of the Viola retreat, to be immediately ready for training sessions under the guidance of Stefano Pioli. He is currently on vacation in Croatia with his family but continues to train daily, even by the sea.
Official Announcement Imminent
Dzeko`s enthusiasm is palpable; he`s eager to start again and put himself completely at the coach`s disposal. The official announcement of his arrival as a new Fiorentina player is expected in the middle of next week, with the date potentially falling between July 9th and 12th. He arrives as a free agent from Fenerbahçe. The contract is for one year with an option for a second season, with an estimated salary of 1.8 million euros plus bonuses. The deal has been essentially finalized for weeks; only minor details related to individual and team bonuses remain to be ironed out. Only the formal signing and official announcement are pending. However, Dzeko already considers himself a Viola player since June 19th, the day he completed his medical examination and visited Viola Park, where he was welcomed by the management who showed him the sports center in Bagno a Ripoli.
Meticulous Approach to Preparation
At 39, Dzeko has long adopted an extremely rigorous approach to caring for his physique, which began after he turned 32. This routine includes precise lifestyle habits, with particular attention to adequate rest and a targeted dietary regimen. Thanks to this discipline, he has managed to significantly extend his career. He does not allow for free days in his preparation. His wife Amra also actively shares and supports this lifestyle. Amra played a crucial role in choosing Florence as the city, which the family also appreciates for its potential for social involvement. The couple will calmly choose their new home, considering the needs of their four children, who are the focal point of their family life. Both are passionate about sports, and Dzeko, in particular, watches various disciplines on television, from basketball to Formula 1.
Hunger for Goals and Immediate Impact
In the 2024-25 season, Dzeko demonstrated his prolificacy with 60 appearances between Fenerbahçe (53) and Bosnia (7), scoring a total of 24 goals (21 for the club and 3 for the national team). Viola fans have high expectations for his goals, his vast experience, and his ability to serve the team. There is a belief that the new coach, Stefano Pioli, will know how to best utilize him. Pioli already has a clear idea of how to use him to maximize his performance. His arrival at Fiorentina marks his third adventure in Italy, after experiences with Roma and Inter. Despite his 39 years, Dzeko arrives in excellent shape, ready to face the Serie A challenge with determination.
