Jeff Ekhator, che ha recentemente segnato il suo primo gol in Serie A allo stadio Maradona contro il Napoli, sta ora vivendo l`esperienza con la Nazionale Under 21. Dal ritiro della squadra guidata dal c.t. Silvio Baldini, ha condiviso le sue impressioni in un`intervista con Rai Sport:
“È stata un`emozione indescrivibile segnare il mio debutto in Serie A in uno stadio così iconico,” ha dichiarato l`attaccante del Genoa, “e farlo con la squadra che mi ha visto crescere. Inizialmente, non riuscivo a crederci. Non appena il fischio finale è arrivato, ho rivisto quel momento almeno un migliaio di volte. Ancora oggi, non so esattamente come sia accaduto.”
Come ha reagito il c.t. Baldini al tuo gol?
“Mi ha detto: `Hai visto? Hai attaccato il primo palo e hai segnato`. È un aspetto su cui ci concentriamo molto qui in Nazionale, e i risultati stanno emergendo.”
Baldini ora si aspetta che tu ripeta la performance con l`Under 21.
“Sì, penso che sia così, e spero vivamente di riuscirci. Siamo un gruppo fantastico, molto unito; lavoriamo insieme e siamo concentrati sull`obiettivo di vincere le prossime due partite.”

Jeff Ekhator, who recently scored his first Serie A goal at the Maradona stadium against Napoli, is now enjoying his call-up to the Under-21 National Team. From the training camp of the squad led by coach Silvio Baldini, he shared his thoughts in an interview with Rai Sport:
“It was an indescribable emotion to score my Serie A debut goal in such an iconic stadium,” stated the Genoa forward, “and to do it with the team that has watched me grow. Initially, I couldn`t believe it. As soon as the final whistle blew, I replayed that moment at least a thousand times. Even now, I`m not exactly sure how it happened.”
How did coach Baldini react to your goal?
“He told me: `See? You attacked the near post and scored.` This is something we focus heavily on here with the National Team, and the results are showing.”
Baldini now expects you to replicate that performance with the Under-21 squad.
“Yes, I believe he does, and I genuinely hope to succeed. We are a fantastic, very cohesive group; we work together and are focused on the goal of winning these next two matches.”
