Preview Elias Saad Becomes New Augsburg Player: Contract Until 2029 for the Forward

Augsburg has reinforced its attack, officially completing the signing of Elias Saad from St. Pauli. The 25-year-old German-Tunisian forward has put pen to paper on a contract that runs until June 30, 2029. The financial terms of the transfer will remain undisclosed, as agreed upon by both clubs.

Saad, born in Hamburg, offers a flexible attacking profile: he is capable of playing on either flank or just behind the main striker. Since joining St. Pauli in January 2023, he was instrumental in the club`s promotion to the Bundesliga, netting seven goals during their successful promotion campaign (2023/24). Although an injury kept him sidelined for a significant period this season (2024/25), he still managed to feature in 18 matches, contributing 3 goals and 2 assists in Germany`s top flight.

`Elias is a technical, quick player, skilled in dribbling and poses a threat in front of goal – all qualities that will enhance the unpredictability and dynamism of our attack,` commented Michael Ströll, Augsburg`s CEO. `We are delighted that he chose to be part of our project; he still possesses substantial potential for development.`

The player himself expressed his enthusiasm: `The initial discussions with the club were exceptionally positive and immediately won me over. This marks my first experience away from northern Germany, and I am eagerly looking forward to stepping onto the pitch in the Augsburg shirt,` stated Saad, who will wear the number 26.
