Alessandro Torri has successfully convinced Empoli of his potential. During his season at VillaValle, a club from Bergamo in Serie D, the young winger featured in 37 league matches, netting 10 goals and providing 2 assists. This is a commendable performance for a nineteen-year-old in his initial exposure to senior football. Consequently, the Tuscan club has decided to offer him a three-year contract, with the likely plan being to then loan him to a Serie C side to gain professional experience.
Born in Bergamo, Torri`s early development took place at Pontisola and subsequently VillaValle, before moves to Cremonese and eventually Empoli. Last season, he had a loan spell at Renate but found limited opportunities in the first team. However, this past season, he was a prominent figure in VillaValle`s positive campaign.
“It`s certainly a good period, things are going well,” he stated in an interview a few months ago. “Although, to be honest, with a bit more clinical finishing, I could have scored another 4-5 goals. For me, after the season I spent at Empoli where I was sidelined for seven months due to pubalgia, this represents a significant phase of recovery, and I am very pleased with how things are progressing.” He also views this renewed interest from Empoli as a form of vindication.
