The time for introductions has arrived at Cagliari Calcio. This morning, in the Unipol Domus press room, coach Fabio Pisacane held his first press conference for the 2025/26 season.
The conference began with introductions from DG Stefano Melis, followed by DS Angelozzi, who thanked President Giulini and the club for the opportunity, as well as Frosinone and President Stirpe for allowing this new chapter in his career.
Reflecting on his decade at the club, transitioning from player to coach, Pisacane emphasized the significance of every moment and year spent at Cagliari, stating the club and region quickly became important to him. He sees this new role as one of life`s incredible opportunities.
Asked about apprehension regarding this new challenge, Pisacane acknowledged that healthy fear is always present and can help bring out the best. He explained he has faced this feeling many times in his career, overcoming it through hard work, a method he also applied successfully during his time coaching the Primavera team.
On the topic of integrating young players into the first team, a frequent subject at the club, Pisacane stressed the need for patience. He highlighted his consistent effort to transmit the club`s values and a sense of belonging, noting that youth graduates are already part of the senior squad. His role will be to continue the work already in progress rather than imposing a new mentality.
Discussing his UEFA PRO course, Pisacane said it provided significant cultural knowledge, spurred by his past knee problems. He mentioned assembling a supportive staff, including Murelli, who can assist on the field. Pisacane stated he possesses ambition but clarified he is not aiming to emulate Pep Guardiola, focusing instead on sacrifice and dedication. He expressed pleasure in working with DS Angelozzi, describing him as a good-spirited person who has successfully launched many young careers, and looks forward to collaborating with him.
