Preview Fiorentina: Kean Stays, ‘Motivated to Continue’

The striker`s release clause expires today. Addressing the fans, Kean pledged: “I am ready to give my best.”

The season`s curtain-raiser, the `Viola Carpet` event, marked a spectacular start for the new Fiorentina season. At the helm is Stefano Pioli, the new coach, positioned center stage at the sold-out `Curva Fiesole` at Viola Park, where 1500 fans gathered to celebrate with the team. Moise Kean was also under the spotlight, the most anticipated figure, met with huge applause. The center-forward received an outpouring of affection, spoke to the crowd accompanied by his walk-up music, and declared: “I am very motivated to go forward. Fiorentina has always helped me, and now I will give my best for the Viola.” These words were music to the ears of the fans, eager to see him start the new season. Even more so after this statement.

Pioli`s Presentation at Fiorentina

A surprise at Viola Park came from the United States, with general manager Alessandro Ferrari announcing a live link-up with President Rocco Commisso. Commisso stated: “We are happy to have Stefano Pioli as coach, and I hope this will be our best year ever.” Pioli`s return was particularly emotional; as seen in the video caption, he remarked, “It`s exciting to be back, I feel at home here.” The coach walked onto the pitch to the tune of `Pioli is on fire,` sung by the fans, met with an ovation. He added: “I am very happy to be back together. It means a lot to me, and we want to give our utmost and bring joy. I work for the emotions, and I can do that here.” Luca Ranieri, Mandragora, De Gea, Dodo, Gosens, and Dzeko also spoke, all expressing the same determination and a single message: “To have a great season.” The Primavera and women`s first teams were also present on the pitch.

Kean: The Clause Expires Today

Images of a smiling Moise Kean at Viola Park earlier in the day had already delighted Fiorentina fans. The center-forward recently rejected a move to Saudi Arabia, and now less than 24 hours remain before his release clause expires. Meanwhile, the striker is already training under Pioli, who intends to rely on his goals. During the event, Kean reiterated his motivation to play for the Viola colors. This is another step towards his stay. Only an assault from a top club, like Manchester United who has reportedly followed him, closing the deal in a matter of hours, paying 52 million euros, and agreeing on a desired destination and salary, would change the situation. These are the final hours of uncertainty, but if there is no dramatic turn of events today, the clause will no longer be a threat. New scenarios will open up, as the situation will shift to Fiorentina, who will no longer be `constrained` and would only let him leave for higher figures through club-to-club negotiation. However, the intention is to sit down and begin talks for a contract renewal, with a wage increase to around 4 million euros, and potentially renegotiate the clause itself. All the preconditions seem to be in place.
