Inizio Shock per i Viola
La partita ha avuto un inizio terrificante per la Fiorentina: già al 2° minuto, un errore di comunicazione tra Comuzzo e De Gea ha permesso a Nazarenko di segnare indisturbato a porta vuota, portando il Polissya in vantaggio per 1-0. Cercando di dare una svolta alla partita, Pioli ha effettuato subito due sostituzioni all`inizio del secondo tempo, inserendo Gudmundsson al posto di Ndour e Gosens per Parisi; entrambi si sarebbero rivelati fondamentali. La Fiorentina è apparsa immediatamente più energica e al 9° minuto Fazzini ha avuto un`ottima occasione, ma il suo tiro è stato respinto dal palo. Il Polissya ha risposto con le sostituzioni di Lednev per Talles Costa e Haiduchyk per Filippov, mentre tra i viola sono entrati Pongracic e Sohm al posto di Comuzzo e Mandragora. Da segnalare un colpo di testa di Gosens al 25° minuto, parato dal portiere, ma il contributo del tedesco è stato cruciale al 33° quando ha fornito l`assist per il gol di Dodò, che ha ridotto lo svantaggio a 2-1, portando il primo sollievo alla sua squadra. Concluse le sostituzioni, l`ultimo ingresso per la Fiorentina è stato Ranieri per Viti. Ed è stato proprio il difensore Ranieri a segnare il 2-2 di sinistro, alla sua prima opportunità, ancora una volta su assist di Gosens, in seguito a un calcio d`angolo battuto da Gudmundsson. Infine, sempre da un corner di Gudmundsson, è arrivato il gol definitivo del 3-2: Dzeko ha insaccato una palla respinta da Kudryk dopo un colpo di testa di Pablo Marì. This spectacular goal made for a challenging evening for Fiorentina, despite their aggregate lead from the first leg. Dodò attempted a few runs, but the Viola appeared disorganized and struggled to create significant threats. Conversely, Polissya continued to play with conviction, troubling Fiorentina`s defense and leaving their attack without solutions. Fiorentina`s only notable shot on target in the first half came in the 38th minute from Fazzini, a central effort that did not trouble Kudryk.
Second Half Comeback
Seeking to turn the tide, Pioli immediately made two substitutions at the start of the second half, bringing in Gudmundsson for Ndour and Gosens for Parisi; both would prove crucial. Fiorentina immediately appeared more energetic, and in the 9th minute, Fazzini had a great chance, but his shot was denied by the post. Polissya responded with substitutions of Lednev for Talles Costa and Haiduchyk for Filippov, while for the Viola, Pongracic and Sohm replaced Comuzzo and Mandragora. A notable header by Gosens in the 25th minute was saved by the goalkeeper, but the German`s contribution became crucial in the 33rd minute when he provided the assist for Dodò`s goal, reducing the deficit to 2-1 and bringing the first sigh of relief to his team.
