Foggia is looking for a fresh start after a truly turbulent year in Serie C. The Rossoneri faced significant difficulties both on the field regarding results and off the field with president Canonico`s step back. This stormy period led to the club having to play a relegation play-out (which they won) and ultimately ending up under judicial administration.
The immediate future appears anything but certain, with doubts lingering over the club`s management and the urgent need to build a technical project suitable for the upcoming Serie C campaign. The primary objective now is to identify a coaching profile around whom the transfer market and subsequently the 2025-26 season can be built. While numerous names have circulated in recent days, a surprising new candidate has reportedly emerged.
This unexpected name is Marco Amelia, a distinguished former Serie A goalkeeper and a member of Italy`s 2006 World Cup-winning squad (part of the goalkeeping group alongside Buffon and Peruzzi). In recent months, Amelia coached Sondrio in Serie D, taking over in December and successfully guiding the team to safety from relegation.
