Gazzetta Fantacampionato New Season

Gazzetta`s Fantacampionato (fantasy football league) is officially underway! The new player list, valid for the 2025-26 season, has been released. This means fantasy managers can now start building their dream teams and discover the valuations of various players. The list is comprehensive, featuring everyone from last year`s standout performers like McTominay and Lautaro to new market arrivals such as David and Modric.

This season boasts an impressive prize pool exceeding 340,000 euros, with the top contender in the general classification set to win a Mazda MX-5 RF Homura. Players will also continue to enjoy daily games, including popular modes like `Head to Head`, `Fanta 5`, and `Fanta Duel`. Let`s delve into the crucial highlights of this year`s rulebook, which introduces several noteworthy changes compared to last season.

Transfers and Coaches

A significant new rule concerns the daily transfers fantasy managers can make to their squads, which has increased from three to four. Another notable change from last year involves the coaches: instead of contributing a full score to the team, they will now provide specific bonuses or penalties based on their in-game tactical decisions. These bonuses and penalties will apply irrespective of whether the selected coach is physically present on the sidelines during the match.

Squad Composition, Formations, and Credits

There are minimal changes regarding the starting fantasy credits and squad composition. Each fantasy manager will be allocated 500 credits and can acquire 25 players, distributed as follows: 3 goalkeepers, 8 defenders, 8 midfielders, and 6 forwards. As mentioned previously, four transfers can be made each game week. However, at the conclusion of the 19th matchday, there will be four extra transfers available (reduced from five last year).

The permitted formations include 3-4-3, 3-5-2, 4-5-1, 4-4-2, 4-3-3, 5-4-1, and 5-3-2. All goals scored are valued at +3 points. An assist grants +1 point, and a goalkeeper`s clean sheet also adds +1 point. For detailed assist attribution, players should refer to the official Lega Serie A website.

Regarding penalties (malus): -0.5 for each yellow card, -1 for a red card, -1 for each goal conceded, -2 for an own goal by an outfield player, -1 for an own goal by a goalkeeper, and -3 for a missed penalty. A saved penalty, however, is rewarded with +3 points.

Modifiers

The modifiers remain linked to the captain and the defense. It is crucial to assign the captain`s armband wisely: the captain receives a +1 bonus point if their match rating is 7 or higher, and a -1 penalty point if their rating is 5 or lower. This specific modifier does not apply if the captain does not receive a rating for the match.

The defensive modifier operates as follows: an additional +1 point is awarded if the average rating of the defense is between 6 and 6.5, +3 points if it falls between 6.5 and 7, and a significant +5 points if the average exceeds 7. This calculation considers the goalkeeper`s official rating (excluding any bonuses or penalties) and the three highest official ratings obtained by the defenders.

Standings and New Leagues

Several new features have been introduced concerning the various league standings. Making its debut is the Coppa Rosea (Pink Cup), which will run from Matchday 11 to 33. This competition is open to teams ranked between 20,001st and 40,000th position after the tenth round of Fantacampionato, operating under the same rules and timings as the Coppa Gazzetta.

Also new is the Referral League (from Matchday 6 to 38), a special leaderboard designed for fantasy managers who successfully invite and register at least one new player to Fantacampionato using their unique personal code. All invitations and registrations must be completed by September 15th.

Returning competitions include the Opening Tournament (Matchday 1 to 5), the General Classification (Matchday 6 to 38), the Coppa Gazzetta (Matchday 11 to 33, open to the top 20,000 teams in the General Classification), and the familiar Second Half Tournament (Matchday 20 to 38). Daily prizes and the `Head to Head` competition will also continue.

It is important to note that the Elite Classification and Merit Leagues have been removed for this season. The Newspaper Readers` Classification will remain (from Matchday 1 to 38). Remember that every fantasy manager can also engage in other side games like Fanta Duel and Fanta 5.
