Gustavo Garcia has officially become a new player for Famalicao. He shared his initial thoughts following his transfer from Palmeiras, speaking to the club`s official website.
“I spoke with my family as soon as I learned of the interest, and we understood that it would be a great step in my career,” Garcia stated. He also mentioned consulting friends already familiar with the club: “I spoke with Lucas Calegari, Ian Custódio, Otávio, and Sorriso, and they all praised the club. I have already had the chance to confirm everything they told me, and I thank them for paving the way for me to move forward with my life.”
Looking ahead, Garcia is optimistic about the team`s performance. “The team will have a great season, I will do my best for this shirt.” He was particularly impressed by the club`s facilities: “I was struck by the excellent conditions that the players have access to; it`s in this type of environment and structure that everyone wants to be,” added Garcia, who recently had a loan spell at CD Nacional, another Portuguese club.
Describing his attributes on the field, Garcia commented, “I am a player with good defensive skills and who makes crosses one of his strong points.” He identified his key strength as his intrinsic drive: “My strong point? The determination that has distinguished me since childhood and that made me understand that, to arrive at a club like Futebol Clube de Famalicão, I would have to take big and decisive steps in my career.”
