Inter and Milan held a two-and-a-half-hour meeting with Milan Mayor Beppe Sala to discuss the new San Siro stadium project. The clubs and the Municipality are working together to agree on a shared price for the sale of the stadium and adjacent areas. Paolo Scaroni, Milan`s president, indicated his satisfaction, stating: `We are working, it`s a work in progress. Optimism? I am always optimistic.`

The 197 Million Valuation

According to ANSA, the meeting aimed to agree on a common figure. The calculations involve various factors, including demolition and remediation costs. The base valuation, set at 197 million for the stadium and surrounding areas, was provided by the Tax Agency. Current negotiations are based on this figure to determine the final sale price.

Foster and Manica Chosen

In previous weeks, Milan and Inter selected internationally renowned firms Norman Foster and Manica for the project, who won a competition among leading studios worldwide. This choice highlights the clubs` commitment to investing significantly, at the highest level, in the stadium. Inter and Milan aim to submit the project to the Municipality by the first half of 2026. Consequently, further meetings will take place in the coming months to develop a preliminary project and subsequently a final version. In February, the `old` San Siro will host the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympic Games.
