Despite yesterday`s loss to Spain, Andrea Soncin`s Italy team secured a painless qualification. The Azzurre advanced to the European Championship quarterfinals and are set to face Norway on the 16th.
Following the match and looking ahead to the next challenge, midfielder Annamaria Serturini, who plays for both the national team and Inter, shared her views.
Describing the night of qualification, Serturini called it “magical, something we all dreamed of together.” She added, “For various reasons, we all wanted this objective, and we want to continue making the fans dream.” Looking ahead to Norway, she noted, “We are calm, we know Norway`s strength: they have high-level individual players and a strong collective team. However, we want to continue writing an important page in our history.”
Regarding her own performance and readiness, she stated, “I always make myself available to the coach; the important thing is to be useful to the team. I couldn`t wait to get onto the field.”
On the next step, she emphasized the need to focus on preparation: “We need to take care of all the details for the match against Norway to continue cultivating this magnificent dream.”
