La difensore centrale dell`Italia, Elena Linari, ha parlato in conferenza stampa alla vigilia dell`esordio agli Europei contro il Belgio. Linari ha sottolineato i progressi del calcio femminile: “L`organizzazione e l`ambiente circostante sono cresciuti notevolmente negli ultimi anni, e questa è la differenza più significativa. Poi, ovviamente, il campo parlerà per sé. Sappiamo che la Svizzera e la sua Federazione hanno lavorato molto, e ci aspettiamo stadi pieni. Questo ci riempie d`orgoglio, dimostrando che il nostro impegno sta dando i suoi frutti.”

Sulle giovani calciatrici

“Non sono una persona di molte parole; preferisco che sia il campo a parlare per me. Voglio che le ragazze più giovani vedano in me un esempio di professionalità, sia dentro che fuori dal campo. Le mie azioni, il mio impegno quotidiano al 100%, il non risparmiarmi mai e la mia spinta a dare il massimo, insieme al supporto di uno staff dedicato, sono il vero insegnamento su cosa significhi indossare questa maglia.”

Sulla “rivincita” contro il Belgio

“Non la vedo come una rivincita. Il calcio femminile è evoluto molto, e sia noi che il Belgio siamo squadre diverse da allora. È importante ricordare il dolore di quel momento per coloro che c`erano, ma l`obiettivo è concentrarsi sulla nostra partita attuale, mettendo in pratica i principi che il mister e lo staff ci hanno insegnato. Personalmente, preferisco guardare al presente e al futuro, non al passato.”

Sulla crescita del calcio femminile in Italia

“Quest`anno, club come Juventus e Roma hanno dimostrato di poter competere ad alto livello. Le giocatrici di queste squadre, insieme a quelle di altri club che stanno investendo nel settore, hanno sempre offerto prestazioni eccellenti. Abbiamo lavorato con grande impegno per prepararci a questa competizione. Il movimento è cresciuto enormemente, ed è ora di mostrare questi progressi.”

Sull`accoglienza e il supporto dei tifosi

“L`accoglienza in Svizzera è stata meravigliosa e calorosa; è un paese bellissimo, e abbiamo trovato persone estremamente disponibili e un`organizzazione eccellente, cosa non scontata per un Campionato Europeo. Spero che molti tifosi vengano a sostenerci e che il loro numero cresca di partita in partita. Il loro tifo e la vista delle nostre maglie e bandiere sugli stadi sono fondamentali. La presenza delle nostre famiglie sarà un ulteriore stimolo e supporto nei momenti difficili. È un`energia positiva che il mister e lo staff ci hanno trasmesso e che cerchiamo di coltivare quotidianamente. La presenza del pubblico ci aiuterà a farla crescere ancora di più.”

Italy`s Elena Linari: “No Revenge Against Belgium, Time to Showcase Our Growth”
