FIGC: "No Conflict of Interest for Bianchedi, Role of Mere Representation"
The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) has clarified its stance regarding the appointment of Diana Bianchedi, who also serves as Vice President and a member of the CONI (Italian National Olympic Committee) Executive Board, as the head delegate for the Italian national football team. The FIGC stated to ANSA that "no conflict of interest is found in the appointment of Diana Bianchedi."
This statement comes in response to a CONI communication that initiated verifications into any potential opportunities and incompatibilities. The FIGC sources emphasized that "there is neither a state nor statutory norm that expressly provides for an incompatibility between the role of a CONI Executive Board member and a federal assignment. Nor is it believed that the assignment can constitute a permanent conflict of interest as referred to in Article 7 of the CONI statute."
Furthermore, the FIGC sources highlighted that "the assignment entrusted to Bianchedi is considered one of mere representation and institutional accompaniment of the national team and the FIGC."
