Lukaku Nears Fenerbahce Transfer with €10 Million Salary Agreement, Napoli Demands €12 Million

Romelu Lukaku is reportedly moving closer to a transfer to Fenerbahce. Following the Belgian striker's openness to joining the Istanbul club, the parties have reached an agreement on a contract worth ten million euros net per year. "Big Rom" has given a positive response and is now awaiting an agreement between the two clubs. Napoli is asking for twelve million euros for the 1993-born player's transfer fee, to be paid in a maximum of two installments. Currently, the Turkish club has offered between 7-8 million euros. The immediate goal is to quickly find common ground on the player's valuation, but Lukaku is increasingly close to a move to the Super Lig and a departure from Serie A.

In the summer of 2024, Napoli acquired Lukaku for 30 million euros from Chelsea at the express request of Antonio Conte. However, Chelsea retains a 40% sell-on clause, and to avoid a capital loss, Napoli's president, De Laurentiis, is currently unwilling to drop below that figure.

Two Very Different Seasons at Napoli

In his two seasons with Napoli, Romelu Lukaku scored fifteen goals in 45 appearances. He significantly contributed to the club's last Scudetto title. In the most recent season, however, he was rarely available to the coach. After an injury sustained last August, the Belgian striker focused his entire preparation for the North American World Cup, playing for the "Red Devils." He only managed five appearances in Serie A during the 2025/26 season for Napoli.
