David`s Arrival and Vlahovic`s Future
Jonathan David, Juventus` new acquisition, is poised to take over the number 9 shirt. Dusan Vlahovic has received few offers, but potential moves within Serie A are being explored.

Dusan Vlahovic`s latest social media post appeared defiant: a black and white photo prominently featuring the number 9, perhaps a cryptic message about his claim to that jersey, which new arrival Jonathan David might now take. The Canadian forward, who is the same age as Vlahovic but made his breakthrough into a major club later, boasts impressive statistics and his recent performance at Lille suggests he`s the reinforcement Juventus needs to elevate its attack. While David and Vlahovic (or even Kolo Muani) could theoretically play together, the practical reality is that David is expected to replace Vlahovic due to both technical-tactical and financial considerations.

The Scenario
Juventus expedited David`s acquisition, securing him a five-year contract worth €6 million plus €2 million in bonuses, effectively bypassing the Vlahovic situation. Without a contract renewal that includes a salary reduction, the Serbian player is deemed outside the club`s future plans. His current contract, with a loyalty bonus increasing his annual earnings to €12 million next year, imposes a substantial financial burden of almost €20 million on the club`s balance sheet. As of now, selling Vlahovic is not straightforward, partly due to his strict selection criteria for incoming offers. He has rejected bids from Saudi Arabia and Fenerbahçe (the latter offering a €10 million salary and a €30 million transfer fee), as he wishes to remain in European football. However, his agent`s recent discussions with clubs in Spain and England have yet to materialize into concrete negotiations.

Potential Destinations
Some Italian clubs are showing interest but remain hesitant to initiate a bidding war. Many hope Juventus might consider a temporary transfer towards the end of the market to avoid paying Vlahovic`s full salary for the upcoming season. AC Milan could become a viable option later, especially if Juventus is willing to contribute to his wages. Inter Milan might consider him in the future, possibly as a free agent. Napoli, facing a similar situation with Osimhen, could suddenly emerge as an option in August. For a loan deal, Juventus would likely need to extend Vlahovic`s contract by a year (perhaps including an appealing exit clause for the player) to help amortize the cost. This loan scenario is plausible but remains an alternative to a permanent transfer, for which, currently, credible offers are lacking.
