Juventus has finalized the first of two new executive appointments aimed at strengthening its sporting structure: François Modesto is the new Technical Director. The former Monza executive was chosen by General Manager Damien Comolli after a thorough evaluation that also considered two other profiles, both former Juventus members, in recent days: Javier Ribalta (who worked with Igor Tudor at Marseille) and Marco Ottolini (currently Genoa`s market director). Ultimately, the choice fell on Modesto, the first candidate closely examined by the new Bianconeri executive.

Technical Director Appointed: What about the Sporting Director?

François Modesto is well-established in the Italian football market. At Monza, he also incorporated data analysis into his work, an approach that Comolli considers fundamental for developing Juventus` new cycle. Born in Bastia, France, in 1978, Modesto is familiar with Italy, having played for Cagliari in Serie A and B around the year 2000. Before his tenure at Monza, he embarked on an executive career at Olympiakos in Greece and as a market collaborator – via Nottingham Forest in the Premier League – within the same multi-club ownership network headed by Evangelos Marinakis. In recent years, his name has also been linked to Roma (where he reportedly assisted Ghisolfi, another executive from Corsica) and Milan. Now, he is ready to arrive in Turin to serve as the initial executive point of contact for Igor Tudor and the team, beginning with the training camp set for July 24 at Continassa, naturally reporting to General Manager Damien Comolli. The appointment of the new Sporting Director will follow at a later date.
