Preview Juventus Completes Francisco Conceiçao Signing from Porto

The Portuguese winger accepted a financial concession to facilitate the deal. Coach Igor Tudor is now also pushing to secure French forward Randal Kolo Muani before the pre-season training camp.

The permanent acquisition of Francisco Conceiçao by Juventus is now virtually finalized. While the Portuguese winger was already part of the squad last season, securing his full transfer from Porto was not a mere formality. It was the culmination of extensive and intricate negotiations. Ultimately, Juventus successfully concluded the agreement, highlighting a collaborative effort across the club to bring this significant market operation to a successful close.

Conceiçao`s Financial Concession for Juventus

The decisive factor in reaching an agreement was Conceiçao himself. Showing his dedication and trust in the club, he agreed to temporarily waive his right to receive 20% of his transfer fee. This concession helped bridge the financial gap between the clubs, making the transfer feasible despite his original €30 million release clause. The overall transfer, including performance-related bonuses, is valued at approximately €27 million. This comprises a fixed fee of €21-22 million, with additional bonuses that are considered easily achievable, bringing the effective cost closer to €25 million – a sum Juventus is fully prepared to invest.

Coach Igor Tudor was a strong advocate for Francisco Conceiçao, highly valuing his exceptional dribbling ability and tactical versatility. Conceiçao can effectively play both as a wide winger and as an attacking midfielder positioned behind the main striker within Tudor`s preferred 3-4-2-1 formation. General Manager Damien Comolli worked diligently alongside agent Jorge Mendes to finalize the agreement, thereby providing Tudor with his second key offensive reinforcement, following the free transfer signing of Jonathan David.

Juventus Targets Kolo Muani from PSG

Juventus`s strategic emphasis on bolstering its attacking options is deliberate. In the period following the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo, the team has consistently struggled to score goals. In the last four Serie A seasons, they have never surpassed 60 goals and have ranked no higher than sixth in the Italian league for offensive output. Such statistics undeniably impede any ambitions for competing at the highest levels in European competitions. Consequently, Tudor is eager to bring in Randal Kolo Muani, with the aim of having his attacking department largely settled before the commencement of summer pre-season training. Despite Paris Saint-Germain`s recent disappointment in the Club World Cup final, negotiations for Kolo Muani can now resume. To date, PSG has insisted on a loan with an obligation to buy, whereas Juventus has proposed a loan with an option to buy, but the negotiation landscape remains fluid.

Outgoing Transfers from Juventus

Regarding potential departures, Timothy Weah is reportedly close to a transfer to Marseille, and Alberto Costa is nearing a move to Sporting Lisbon. Meanwhile, Jadon Sancho continues to hope for an offer from Juventus. With Conceiçao`s arrival confirmed, any potential opportunity for the English winger would only arise if Nico Gonzalez were to be sold, allowing Sancho to fill that vacated position.
