Preview Juventus: New Management, Key Signings, and Vlahovic’s Future

Juventus is undergoing a significant transformation. Following the promotion of Giorgio Chiellini to the management team alongside General Manager Damien Comolli, the club has announced another pivotal addition: François Modesto as the new Technical Director. Modesto arrives from Monza after nearly three years.

`Joining such a glorious club represents an honor and a great responsibility for me,` declared the 46-year-old executive. `This club boasts an extraordinary history and a winning culture that I deeply admire. I am enthusiastic about starting this new chapter, eager to work closely with Damien, coach Igor Tudor, and the entire staff to build an ambitious, modern, and successful project. I will dedicate all my experience and commitment to contributing to Juventus`s success both domestically and in Europe.`

Transfer Market Updates: Incomings and Outgoings

Turning to Juventus`s transfer targets, the club has secured the services of Portuguese winger Francisco Conceição. Juventus, owned by the Elkann family, will pay €32 million for his transfer from Porto, exceeding the initial €30 million release clause. This fee will be paid in four installments, strategically timed to avoid the clause rising to €45 million. Only minor details remain, with Conceição needing to waive a 20% sell-on clause he would have received if his buyout clause hadn`t been activated. Once this is resolved, Conceição`s move to Juventus will be finalized.

Furthermore, a surprising rumor has emerged regarding the midfield, involving Frank Kessié. Kessié could be a target if Juventus`s management successfully sells Douglas Luiz (with Everton and West Ham reportedly interested). For the Ivorian midfielder, this would mark a return to Serie A after his previous spell with AC Milan and a departure from current club Al-Ahli. However, recent reports suggest Kessié is not particularly keen on leaving Saudi Arabia at this time.

A new development has come from Portugal, specifically from Sporting Lisbon, who attempted to acquire Alberto Costa for €13 million plus bonuses. Juventus, however, rejected this offer, demanding a higher fee for the Portuguese right-back. The Bianconeri are seeking at least €15 million plus bonuses, in addition to a 10% sell-on clause for any future transfer.

Dusan Vlahovic`s Future

What about Dusan Vlahovic? Currently, no clubs are willing to meet his substantial annual salary demand of €12 million, while the Serbian striker himself is not inclined to leave Juventus. The former Fiorentina player has only one year remaining on his contract. Should an appealing opportunity arise, he would only consider it if it guarantees a high level of competition – he has already declined an approach from Galatasaray. The situation requires patience. Nevertheless, if an offer does materialize, it will be evaluated.
