July 1st, marking the official opening day of the summer transfer window, also signified the farewell of two notable Italian talents from Toronto FC and Canada. Federico Bernardeschi and Lorenzo Insigne, who had arrived in Major League Soccer seeking new opportunities, are now both reportedly considering a possible return to Serie A.

Federico Bernardeschi`s departure from the Canadian club has been made official. Toronto FC announced that the Club and Federico Bernardeschi mutually agreed to terminate the attacking midfielder`s contract. The club utilized one of its two available guaranteed contract buyout options specifically for Bernardeschi. While rumours have emerged linking the former Juventus player with Bologna, these reports have not yet received official or unofficial confirmation.

Similarly, in the case of **Lorenzo Insigne**, the former Napoli captain, Toronto FC announced the immediate termination of his contract, which was originally set to run until June 30, 2026. This early termination makes Insigne effectively a free agent, an attractive prospect for any club. Serie A clubs, in particular, are seen as potential destinations, as Insigne is reportedly looking with considerable interest towards a return to Italy.
