Claudio Lotito has broken his silence to address the situation of his team. Following a season where qualification for Europe was missed, ambitions are high, but Lazio`s transfer market is currently restricted. Any potential deals can only be completed through the club`s recapitalization. The club president underscored this point when speaking to today`s edition of Il Messaggero, explaining:
“If I decide to make signings, I will recapitalize,” Claudio Lotito began, “but it wouldn`t make sense because Lazio doesn`t need capital, nor do we have issues with players. We can make adjustments in January at most, that`s not the problem. We have no need to sell our key players or to buy. In fact, we need to thin out the squad because we have 30 players for a single competition.”
The Biancoceleste number one then continued by discussing the offers received for the key players, emphasizing his unwillingness to part with his team`s most important assets: “They offered me 40 million for Castellanos,” he continued, “the same for Rovella, Gila, and Zaccagni. Then 35 million for Tavares, 25 million for Isaksen, and 15 million for Romagnoli. I sold Tchaouna for 15 (14 plus 3 in bonuses, ed. note). But I don`t want to dismantle the team.”
