Lorenzo Paratici, son of former Juventus sporting director Fabio, unexpectedly emerged as the star striker for AS Roma. The promising 2008-born talent surprised everyone by scoring a hat-trick and standing out in a morning friendly against Roma City at Trigoria, marking his absolute debut in a Giallorossi shirt.

An Unforgettable Debut

Gasperini`s squad, missing 11 national team players and the injured Bailey, dominated Roma City, an Eccellenza-level team, with a resounding 8-0 victory. In addition to Paratici`s hat-trick, Cristante and Baldanzi each scored a brace, while Soulè also found the net. However, the true highlight of the match was the young Paratici, who netted three distinct goals (right foot, left foot, and header) in less than an hour of play, just five days after arriving at Trigoria. Lorenzo joined the capital club from Sampdoria on a loan-with-option-to-buy deal, part of a transfer that also brought another former Sampdoria forward, Forte (also born in 2008), to Roma, while Cinti and Ferrara moved to Genoa under the same terms.

A Son of Art with a Bright Future

Born in Turin on October 21, 2008, Lorenzo is the son of Fabio Paratici, the well-known former footballer and sporting director for Sampdoria, Juventus, and Tottenham. Despite not yet turning 17, the new Giallorossi striker is already highly regarded. He seized the opportunity presented by the absences of Ferguson, Dovbyk, and Arena to wear the number nine jersey and impress Gasperini, who had been monitoring him since last season. Developed in the youth academies of Pro Vercelli and then Sampdoria (from 2023), Paratici is described as a modern, fast, and clinical center-forward who has already gained experience with national youth teams. The 2024-25 season saw him excel with Sampdoria`s Under 18 squad, and in January, he made the jump to the Primavera team, scoring 7 goals in 18 appearances (17 in 39 overall for the season) and earning a spot on the national team for his age group. His Primavera debut on January 17 against Udinese was unforgettable: coming on for the final seven minutes, he scored a goal, contributing to Sampdoria`s 5-1 victory. His idol? Cristiano Ronaldo, whom his father Fabio brought to Juventus in the summer of 2018.
