Following their recent relegation to the Championship and the mutual parting of ways with manager Ruud Van Nistelrooy, Leicester City has officially named Marti Cifuentes as their new head coach. The former Queens Park Rangers manager has signed a three-year contract with the Foxes. This move sees Leicester return to England`s second tier just one year after securing promotion to the Premier League under Enzo Maresca, who subsequently moved to Chelsea in 2024.

The English club released a statement confirming the appointment:

Cifuentes will be joined by his assistant coach, Xavi Calm, also 43, who previously worked alongside him at Queens Park Rangers in the Sky Bet Championship.
