Una notizia sorprendente scuote il panorama calcistico italiano: Milano, con il suo storico stadio San Siro (Meazza), rischia seriamente di non essere inclusa tra le città ospitanti per Euro 2032, che l`Italia co-organizzerà con la Turchia. Il presidente della FIGC, Gabriele Gravina, ha dichiarato che lo stadio attuale non soddisfa i requisiti UEFA necessari per un evento di tale portata.
Gravina ha espresso l`auspicio che le autorità politiche, in collaborazione con i club Inter e Milan, trovino una soluzione adeguata per la città. La Federcalcio italiana deve presentare l`elenco definitivo degli stadi entro il 31 luglio 2026, e le strutture proposte devono avere progetti approvati, finanziati e pronti per l`inizio dei lavori entro marzo 2027. Milano si trova dunque di fronte a una vera e propria corsa contro il tempo per evitare l`esclusione.
Il presidente Gravina ha poi aggiunto che, a fronte del positivo interesse mostrato da 13 diverse realtà, si sta addirittura profilando la possibilità che Roma possa candidarsi con due impianti (lo Stadio Olimpico e il futuro stadio della AS Roma), sottolineando l`importanza di includere la capitale, una città internazionale e profondamente legata all`Europa, nel piano per Euro 2032.

A surprising development is shaking the Italian football landscape: Milan, with its historic San Siro (Meazza) stadium, is at serious risk of not being included among the host cities for Euro 2032, which Italy will co-organize with Turkey. FIGC President Gabriele Gravina announced that the current stadium does not meet the UEFA requirements necessary for an event of this magnitude.
Gravina expressed hope that political authorities, in collaboration with clubs Inter and Milan, will find a suitable solution for the city. The Italian Football Federation must submit the definitive list of stadiums by July 31, 2026, and the proposed venues must have approved, funded projects ready for construction to begin by March 2027. Milan is thus facing a race against time to avoid exclusion.
President Gravina further added that, given the positive interest shown by 13 different entities, there`s even a scenario emerging where Rome could propose two venues (the Olympic Stadium and AS Roma`s future stadium), emphasizing the importance of including the capital, an international city deeply connected to Europe, in the Euro 2032 plans.
