On loan for half a season, Antony`s impact at Real Betis has been so striking that it would be a shame for the Verdiblancos not to keep him. With nine goals and five assists in 26 official appearances, the Brazilian winger has become a fan favorite, also earning the affection of the dressing room who want to try and convince him to leave Manchester United to stay at the Andalusian club.
The latest example comes from Natan, Antony`s compatriot and friend, and former Napoli defender, who sent him a message via an Instagram comment: `We are waiting for you,` accompanied by a green heart representing Betis`s colors. Manuel Pellegrini, the Betis coach, has reportedly informed the sporting management that keeping Antony is one of his desires for this summer, according to the newspaper AS.
The only issue is Manchester United isn`t making it easy. The English club, while willing to part ways with Antony, is waiting for an economic offer exceeding 40 million euros, given the 100 million euro outlay to bring him to Old Trafford from Ajax a few seasons ago. Meanwhile, interest in Antony has grown in recent months, with even Como under Cesc Fabregas showing interest. However, given the strong bond he has formed, the Spanish newspaper suggests Betis might have a chance to secure the deal. And Antony has reportedly already given his approval.
