Deportivo Alavés has officially opened its 2025/26 transfer window with the arrival of Pablo Ibáñez. The Navarre-born midfielder, born in 1998, has signed a five-year contract, keeping him at the club until 2030. The player joins Alavés on a free transfer after the conclusion of his spell at Osasuna, where he spent the last five seasons.
Born in Pamplona on September 20, 1998, Ibáñez developed through the Navarre youth football system before joining Osasuna`s academy in 2020. After two years with the reserve team (Osasuna B), helping them achieve promotion to Primera RFEF, he made his first-team debut in the 2022-23 season. For the “rojillos,” he accumulated 100 official appearances, including 86 in La Liga, scoring 3 goals and providing 4 assists. Notably, he scored the decisive goal that secured Osasuna`s place in the 2022/23 Copa del Rey final.
A dynamic, disciplined player with a keen tactical sense, Ibáñez stands out for his ability to link the midfield and attack, as well as his well-timed runs into offensive positions. He is a modern midfielder capable of providing both balance and an attacking threat in the opponent`s penalty area.
