Preview Paris Bolsters Security for Club World Cup Final

Paris is implementing significant security measures in anticipation of the Club World Cup final. This action is being taken to prevent potential disturbances similar to those that occurred on the night of May 31st following Paris Saint-Germain`s Champions League victory.

Massive security deployments are planned across the city. Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau confirmed these measures to RMC Sport, stating emphatically, “Gatherings on the Champs-Élysées tomorrow night will not be tolerated.” A substantial force of 11,500 police officers will be deployed specifically in Paris, part of a wider nationwide deployment of 53,000 personnel across France. Retailleau further explained that the heightened security is also necessary because the following day is Bastille Day, a date often marked by “troublemakers who seek to cause violence, break things, and loot.”

The final match itself is scheduled for Sunday, July 13th at 9 PM local time at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, USA.
