Paris FC has been actively seeking defensive reinforcements for several weeks. After initially considering the experienced profile of **Chancel Mbemba**, the Parisian club has now shifted its focus to **Otavio**, a 23-year-old Brazilian defender currently with Porto. Despite joining Porto for €12.3 million in January 2024, Otavio has progressively lost his place in the Portuguese side, eventually finding himself on the fringes of the squad. His limited playing time, including a mere four minutes during the recent Club World Cup, clearly signals his diminished status at the club.
As previously reported, Paris FC initiated discussions with Porto to secure a transfer. According to recent reports from the French press, the two clubs have now reached an agreement for a fee exceeding €12 million. This figure would represent a substantial investment for the capital city team.
However, the proposed transfer is currently at a standstill. The former Flamengo player is reportedly not entirely convinced by the prospect of moving to France and is carefully evaluating other offers he has received. Paris FC, meanwhile, remains patient and hopeful of persuading him, but acknowledges that the final decision rests solely with the player. A resolution is anticipated in the coming days.
