Preview Parma Eyeing Experienced Defender Armando Izzo from Monza

Parma, under the direction of Carlos Cuesta, is beginning its transfer market activities. While the club is still in the process of hiring a new sporting director following the mutual termination of Mauro Pederzoli`s contract on June 11th, the strategic direction remains consistent: to build upon the youth development philosophy adopted over the past two seasons. This approach has already highlighted several promising players who are now attracting interest from clubs across Italy, including talents like Suzuki, Leoni, Bernabé, Sohm, and Bonny (who has already finalized a move to Inter).

However, the club recognizes the importance of complementing these young talents with experienced players who can provide guidance and mentorship, particularly for those joining from other countries. It is in this context that reports have emerged, indicating Parma`s interest in acquiring defender Armando Izzo from Monza.

Born in 1993, Izzo recently experienced relegation with the Brianza club. His current contract is set to expire next June 30th. Parma views him as a versatile defensive option capable of contributing significant experience. Throughout his career with Genoa, Torino, and Monza, Izzo has made 285 appearances in Serie A and also featured 5 times in European competition for Torino during the 2019/20 Europa League qualifiers.
