Preview Pogba Presented at Monaco: ‘Everything is Connected, Free as a Bird’

Presented today as a new Monaco player, Paul Pogba, wearing a big smile, spoke about what he hopes to bring to Adi Hütter`s team. “I am competitive. I don`t want to play to lose. But there are steps to take. I hope to add an extra touch to this club, which has been on the podium for two years. PSG might be the best team in Europe… It`s a great challenge. We came here to win. I think everything is connected, and I hope the worst is behind me. When things aren`t going well, you can have problems everywhere. The plan was to resolve everything and be emotionally and physically well. It`s important to be free as a bird.”

What do you expect from this new adventure?

“These are my first days; I already want to get to know the players. I think I`m the oldest at the club, which is strange. I want to see how they work, how they train; it`s important. I know some of them. I already spoke with some players before coming here. It`s in my nature to be like this. Eric Dier and I have experience, and we can help the younger players in their daily lives, if they give us that space.”

In what role do you think you can express yourself best?

“The midfield deployed by Monaco will already depend on the coach (he laughs). It`s positive for us to have these quality players who perform well in matches. With training, we will start to understand each other and know our roles. I can play as a 6, as an 8, on the left, as a 10; I know how to adapt. It will depend on the team, on where I will be most useful. And the coach`s vision will also come into play.”
