Preview Report: Hellas Verona Closing in on Jusef Erabi

Hellas Verona is reportedly making significant progress in their pursuit of Swedish forward Jusef Erabi. The 2003-born striker, currently under contract with Hammarby until December 2026, is a key target for the Gialloblu management ahead of their training camp. Verona`s aim is to complete the transfer in the coming days to make Erabi available to coach Paolo Zanetti right from the start of preseason.

Hammarby is initially asking for around €6 million, but negotiations are well underway, and Hellas is optimistic about reaching a different agreement. A loan deal with an option to buy is emerging as a potential solution, which would allow Verona to defer the investment and assess the young prospect`s performance in the Italian league.

Erabi himself has remained tight-lipped about the potential move to Verona. Speaking to the Swedish portal Fotbollskanalen, he stated: “It`s a nice club, but I don`t know anything. The transfer market has just started.” These are typical non-committal remarks that don`t rule out the transfer but confirm the player is awaiting more concrete developments.

Hellas`s plans are somewhat complicated by competition from Sassuolo, who are also reportedly interested in the Scandinavian talent. Despite this, Verona`s sporting director, Sean Sogliano, who recently returned from a trip to Stockholm, remains confident about the success of the operation. The general feeling is that the next week could be decisive.
