Preview Ricci Joins Milan, It’s Official: “I’m Very Happy”

The midfielder from Torino has signed a four-year contract with an option for a fifth. He has already met coach Allegri.

Milan`s midfield restructuring has officially begun with the formalization of their first signing this summer: Samuele Ricci. He is, in fact, the first summer reinforcement for the Rossoneri, ahead of Modric`s expected arrival after the Club World Cup. Starting Monday, when pre-season training kicks off at Milanello, Allegri will have a young (23), versatile, serious Italian midfielder in the squad, which is helpful for league registration lists. Samuele, who arrived in Milan on Wednesday evening, told those who intercepted him that he was `absolutely ready`.

Procedures Completed

Before signing the contract at Casa Milan, Ricci completed all the standard bureaucratic procedures. The morning was dedicated to medical tests at the La Madonnina clinic in Milan, followed by obtaining sports eligibility at the Centro Ambrosiano. In the afternoon, he arrived at Via Aldo Rossi, dressed elegantly in a jacket and tie (a detail positively noted by many fans), accompanied by family and agents for the signing: a four-year contract with an option for a fifth season. `I`m very happy,` said the midfielder upon leaving the Milan headquarters, where he also had the opportunity to meet Allegri. Ricci will wear the number 4 shirt.
