Campobasso is moving forward with clear goals and significant ambition. Club President Matt Rizzetta has outlined the strategic plan for the upcoming season, reiterating that the explicit objective is to construct a squad capable of seriously contending for promotion to Serie B (Italy`s second tier).
Regarding the performance in the current campaign, the Rossoblù leader expressed general satisfaction: “We are meeting our stated targets, which means securing a playoff position. It is certainly regrettable that we have dropped some points, but the team spirit is strong, and we are confident that we can compete effectively against any opponent during the second half of the season.” He offered a vote of confidence to the team, urging them to maintain consistency and stability moving forward.
On transfer dealings, Rizzetta stressed that the club’s approach is firmly rooted in long-term planning. “Our focus is already on the future. It would be inefficient and wasteful to invest significant amounts now in players who would not ultimately fit into a more ambitious squad profile for next year.” While currently no players have requested a transfer, the strategic process for recruitment differs from last season: “We prioritize player exits before bringing new ones in.”
The president concluded by stating that market reinforcements will only be sought once the overall squad structure and availability are fully clarified: “We will look to reinforce the team during the second half of January.” This measured, thoughtful approach affirms Campobasso’s commitment to steady, determined growth, ensuring progress is achieved without impulsive or rash decisions.
