Sassuolo is actively scouting Northern Europe for potential additions to strengthen their squad. Following their significant interest in Danish full-back Sebulonsen from Brøndby, they have now reportedly targeted another promising young Scandinavian talent: Jusef Erabi. This Swedish forward, born in 2003 and currently playing for Hammarby, is attracting attention from several Italian clubs thanks to a bright start to the Allsvenskan season, where he has already contributed 4 goals and 1 assist in 15 matches.
However, Sassuolo is not the only club interested in securing his services. Hellas Verona has already taken proactive steps, reportedly arranging a visit to Sweden to engage in direct negotiations with Hammarby. Their intention is to finalize a deal before their pre-season training camp in Folgaria commences on July 13th.
The competition from the Emilia-based club could potentially complicate Verona`s plans. Indeed, Sassuolo is reportedly considering accelerating negotiations if they are successful in moving Andrea Pinamonti on the market, which would free up both squad space and financial resources in the attacking department.
For their part, Hammarby has set an asking price for their young jewel: approximately five million euros. This represents a notable valuation, but it`s considered within reach for two Serie A clubs eager to acquire a promising young player ready to develop in Italy.
Meanwhile, Erabi himself expressed surprise upon hearing the rumors linking him with a move to Serie A. “I was shocked this morning when I read on Fotbollskanalen that the news was on an Italian website. It`s funny, but I don`t know anything concrete,” the forward commented, suggesting that his future, at least for the time being, remains uncertain.
The transfer battle is officially underway: Verona and Sassuolo appear ready to compete head-to-head to secure one of Swedish football`s emerging talents.
