The 2025/26 Serie C season has commenced, marking its first edition with technological support for referees. Draws were recorded in Perugia-Guidonia and Pineto-Vis Pesaro.

A historic evening concluded with the debut of Football Video Support (FVS). In Perugia, the first FVS review led to a penalty kick, overturning an initial foul call against the attacker. The use of FVS was more extensive in Livorno, observed by referee designator Orsato and Pierluigi Collina, chairman of the FIFA Referees Committee. The highly anticipated Livorno-Ternana match favored the Tuscan side, who celebrated their return to professional football with a three-point victory thanks to a goal from Marchesi (who was later sent off). Arezzo also secured a narrow win against Forlì, courtesy of Tavernelli`s goal. Sambenedettese claimed victory in the clash of newly promoted teams against Bra, in front of nine thousand spectators: at the Riviera delle Palme, the ten travelling fans from Piedmont, who undertook a long journey, were warmly welcomed with fried fish and drinks offered by a local company as a gesture of hospitality. Draws were also recorded in the aforementioned Curi match (Perugia-Guidonia) and between Pineto and Vis Pesaro, where referee Maria Marotta was replaced at halftime due to injury by fourth official Longo.
