Inter`s Resurgence and Upcoming Tests
Mattei stated, “Within a week of the season`s resumption, we will gain greater clarity on Inter`s true worth. A crucial series of three matches will determine if they can genuinely challenge Napoli for the Scudetto, or if there are still underlying issues to address. Furthermore, the presence of Marotta, whom I consider the finest Italian executive currently, offers a strong assurance.”
Juventus`s Attacking Dilemmas
Concerning Juventus, Mattei remarked, “The main issue lies in the attack. Tudor persists with constant rotation, and the absence of a fixed starting striker, coupled with this alternation, is undermining the confidence of players on the field. In my opinion, Vlahovic should be the starter, but his contract is nearing its end. Tudor needs to help Openda and David perform better, as they haven`t been convincing thus far. These continuous changes are hindering goal-scoring. Currently, Yildiz and Conceicao are the only ones providing sparks, but they aren`t the primary goal-scorers.”
Milan`s Strategic Puzzles with Leao
Shifting focus to Milan, Mattei commented, “Perhaps Milan believes they`ve completed a significant restructuring, but I see it as only halfway done. They let go of Theo Hernandez, yet Leao remains. His technical prowess is undeniable, but his consistency is the concern. Gimenez isn`t convincing, but he is a center-forward, a role Leao isn`t suited for. Consequently, Leao should play in a deeper position, but then how would you accommodate Pulisic and Saelemaekers? It`s quite a complex puzzle.”
