Speaking in a press conference ahead of the match against Manchester City, Juventus coach Igor Tudor discussed the performance of young forward Kenan Yildiz. “Yildiz is playing exceptionally well,” Tudor stated. “He possesses the right mentality, truly loves the game, and everything else stems from that. While his natural talents are evident for everyone to see, I believe the crucial factor is his intense drive to constantly perform at his highest level and commit entirely. He gives his maximum effort from start to finish, both in matches and during training sessions; he never holds back. This kind of dedication is truly wonderful and quite uncommon.”
Tudor acknowledged that players who score naturally gain more attention, but stressed that many members of the squad are performing at a high standard. He specifically highlighted the top-level displays from Thuram, Conceicao, Kolo Muani, and Alberto. Commenting on Savona, Tudor noted his solid performance in the position he`s been deployed, mentioning that he needs to gain some more physical strength to handle certain situations, which the team is working on. However, Tudor pointed out numerous positives regarding Savona, including his commitment, professionalism, sharp football intelligence, ability to read the game, and impressive speed.
Elaborating on Yildiz`s character, Tudor added, “He has a wealth of positive attributes; he`s a humble young man who listens intently. These qualities might seem simple, but they are far from it. The values that are increasingly becoming lost in modern times, he still holds, and they are incredibly valuable.” Tudor also spoke about midfielder Filip Kostic, calling him a “pleasant surprise.” He continued, “I hadn`t coached him before, and he is a player who fits well into the style of football I prefer. He is always available, highly professional, possesses good physical endurance, and solid technical ability. He applies himself diligently and is already well-integrated with the rest of the squad. I am pleased with him.”
