Preview Tudor Reflects on Juventus’ Club World Cup Elimination by Real Madrid

Croatian Coach Igor Tudor speaks after the defeat: `Yildiz`s absence wasn`t technical. I`ll discuss the transfer market later.`

Juventus bids farewell to the United States and the Club World Cup following their second consecutive defeat, a 1-0 loss to Real Madrid in Miami. While there were some regrets, particularly after a first half with scoring opportunities, Tudor expressed satisfaction with the team`s performance in Miami.

“I have to congratulate the lads because they did what we prepared,” Tudor stated. “They gave their all. Ten players were asking for substitutions, and some were afraid of getting injured. At one point, I wanted to make a more offensive change, but Khephren (Thuram, ed.) was clutching his hamstring.”

FORCED CHOICE

“It was a matter of precaution,” he continued regarding the Yildiz situation. “That substitution wasn`t a technical choice either. But truly, I repeat, the guys gave everything both against City and today against Real; they are lethal opponents. Now, let`s recover and rest well before restarting.”

Tudor noted a reaction from the team after the 5-2 loss to Guardiola`s side. “We prepared this match against Real with a different strategy; this one mattered differently than the other. We also had some chances, and we knew we would have to suffer. Now let`s rest.”

With the team heading for holidays, attention turns to the club`s transfer market activities. When asked what kind of Juventus squad he expects after the break, the Croatian coach was evasive about CEO Comolli`s strategies. “Now let`s just rest. Afterward, it will be time to talk about all of that.”
