The long-anticipated departure of Uros Racic from Sassuolo has now been officially confirmed. The Serbian midfielder is set to leave Italy, embarking on a new chapter with Aris Thessaloniki in Greece.
U.S. Sassuolo Calcio has issued an official statement regarding the move: “U.S. Sassuolo Calcio announces the permanent transfer of player Uroš Racić to Aris Salonicco. We wish Uroš all the best for his future!”
Racic, who was considered surplus to requirements by the Neroverdi squad, arrived in Greece recently, ready to embrace this fresh challenge. The Greek club successfully reached an agreement with the Emilia-Romagna side for a permanent transfer, which will see Sassuolo receive 3 million euros.
Upon his return to Sassuolo after loan spells at West Bromwich Albion in England and Braga in Portugal, Racic was not permanently acquired by the Portuguese club, despite a notably convincing second half of the season. Braga, which held a buy-out option set at 2.5 million euros, ultimately pursued other transfer targets, thereby opening the door for Racic’s move to Aris.
